Friday, 2nd April 2010   SNOWDONIA    3 nights    Grade 4
THIS IS NOW FULLY BOOKED - Accommodation will be at the Kings (Dolgellau) youth hostel (LL40 1TB). From Llangollen take the A5, then the A494, and, just before Dolgellau, turn right onto the A470. After passing Dolgellau turn left onto the A493, and, after a few miles, take a sharp left towards the youth hostel. For those of us arriving on Friday morning/lunchtime there will be a short walk , starting from the hostel at 2pm, which will be a circular route passing by Llyn Gwernan lake. Our weekend will get into full swing on Saturday when we'll attempt an ascent of Cadair Idris, at 893m (2,930ft), one of Wales's most rewarding mountain climbs. Sunday's walk will be a circular walk, taking in part of the Mawddach Trail, and offering spectacular views of the sea and surrounding hills. Remember to take enough provisions to last until the return journey on Monday. There are still places at the Youth Hostel if you wish to come along. You will however have to book directly with the Hostel. Please don't try and add yourself to the group booking, it will only confuse Beckie!

Friday, 30th April 2010   LAKE DISTRICT WEEKEND    3 nights    Grade 3
A weekend in the beautiful Lake District. Arrive on Friday for a walk around the area we will be staying in, hopefully near to Buttermere. Saturday will be a high level walk taking in some mountains, and Sunday will offer a lower level walk near lakes and forests. Monday is for messing about on the water: hiring electric boats or rowing boats on Coniston Water, a short distance away. Due to high demand for hostels, we'll most likely be staying in a camping barn/bunkhouse or possibly camping, though this time of year has proved to be of good weather the last couple of years, better than August! Food supplies must be brought with you for each day, though a short trip to a lakeland pub for dinner(s) is most likely. Details to be confirmed soon.

Friday, 28th May 2010   YORKSHIRE THREE PEAKS WEEKEND    3 nights    Grade 4
Why not spend the bank holiday weekend climbing Yorkshire's 3 Peaks, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent? We'll be bagging one peak per day, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and finishing with a leisurely potter around on Monday morning, before returning in the afternoon. We will be staying at Dalesbridge in Austwick, near to Settle. Here we have the option of either staying in either 4 or 6-bed Bunkhouses, or camping.
Checkout their website for more details: www.dalesbridge.co.uk
From M6 Junction 34 follow the road for Kirby Lonsdale. After about four miles and turn right after a sharp left hand bend by some trees for Bentham. Follow the road through Bentham heading for Settle. When you come to the A65 turn right, the Dalesbridge Centre is situated one and a half miles on the right hand side. (Do not take any of the side roads into Clapham or Austwick villages). Those who would prefer Bunkhouse accommodation should let me know ASAP to avoid disappointment.

Notes on Weekend Bookings:
Please help the organiser by booking, and paying, for weekends as early as possible.

If a late booking is absolutely necessary, then it may be possible to do this directly with the Youth Hostel. This requires individual membership of the YHA (currently about £14). Such bookings must be made on an individual basis. No attempt should be made to refer, or "tag on", to the group booking, since this creates confusion for both the hostel warden and the organiser.
