Sunday, 25th February 2018   KNYPERSLEY POOL AND BROWN EDGE    8 miles  5 hrs   Grade 2
Start Time: 10:00am    Grid Ref: SJ893550. Location: One mile south of Biddulph just off the A527. Coming from Stoke on Trent follow the signs for Greenway Bank Country Park ST8 7QX. There are two car parks: one is halfway up the hill at the visitor's centre, however the walk will start from the Poolside Carpark at the bottom of the hill, next to the dam.
A gentle start takes us around Knypersely Pool, with landmarks including the Warder's Tower, Gawton's well, a druid site, and a little waterfall. We leave the park and head up through Rock End past the Wicken Stones. Undulating countryside and beautiful views across the Moorlands with sights of Mow Cop on the horizon. After lunch we make our way along the top path to Marshes Hill, with a pub stop in the Top Pub on Brown Edge. The final leg takes us back down through the fields to the reservoir. Gaiters advised as the route may be muddy in places. Lunch required.

Points to Remember:
1. Please call the walk leader before the walk in case any details have changed.
2. Make sure that you are suitably dressed for the weather. Remember that some walks are on exposed high land and the weather can be cold and wet. Denim jeans are not suitable for high-level walks.

6. If transport is shared, please provide the driver with a share of the fuel costs.
7. Non RA members are welcome to join us for 3 walks before being asked to join the RA. There are no exceptions to this.
