Sunday, 22nd October 2017   A TRAIL OF FOUR DALES RECCE    11 miles  6 hrs   Grade 2
Start Time: 10:00am    Grid Ref: SK138732. From Buxton follow the A6 in the direction of Matlock/Derby, after approx 4 miles turn onto the B6049, signposted Tideswell/ Millers Dale. Continue for 1.5 miles, turn left at signpost Wormhill, Monsall Trail. Go under the bridge, Millers Dale carpark is on the left. Parking is £4.50 for the day, with toilets and refreshments available. Car share where possible. Nearest postcode SK17 8SN
Similar walk to earlier in the year at Teggs Nose, a 11-12 mile recce starting from Millers Dale Car Park, a chance to take it in turns, leading the group following a mapped route along the Monsall Trail, through Millers Dale, Litton and Cressbrook Tunnels. Then leave the trail, walking through Water-cum-Jolly Dale following the river Wye, onto Cressbrook Dale, stopping for lunch at Peter's Stone. Pub stop at The Three Stags Head described as "A quaint 300 year old pub with two small rooms, stone flagged floors and low ceilings. One of the few inns in the area on CAMRA's National Inventory of unspoilt pubs". Following the pub stop we will head towards the villages of Litton and Tideswell, through Monks Dale, and then back to the car park..... hopefully :-) Lunch required.

Points to Remember:
1. Please call the walk leader before the walk in case any details have changed.
2. Make sure that you are suitably dressed for the weather. Remember that some walks are on exposed high land and the weather can be cold and wet. Denim jeans are not suitable for high-level walks.
3. Dogs are welcome but only with the prior agreement of the walk leader
4. If the walk leader decides to shorten the walk then that decision is final and is not open to negotiation. The leader will only do this when there is a good reason for doing so.
5. Even if a walk does not state packed lunch, it is always advisable to bring something to eat and drink.
6. If transport is shared, please provide the driver with a share of the fuel costs.
7. Non RA members are welcome to join us for 3 walks before being asked to join the RA. There are no exceptions to this.
8. Regrettably, due to the nature of the Sunday programme, we are unable to accept children on our these walks.
9. Children are welcome on Family Friendly walks.
