We start by climbing rather abruptly uphill from the layby, passing airplane wreckage (Kinder is a sort of Bermunda Triangle of the Dark Peak District) to the ridge that leads to Kinder downfall. Fantastic views offered here, some of the best in the Peak district on a fine day, and during strong winds the Kinder downfall may even be gusted to defy gravity! We follow the ridge further along the Pennine Way to the top of Jacob's Ladder, but instead of descending into Edale we follow a path into towards Kinder Reservoir, we we later pass on the way back to the carpark.
