The Staffordshire Walkers are a group of young and enthusiastic walkers. The group is one of many Ramblers' Association young people's groups around the country which are aimed predominately at those in their 20s and 30s. The group started in 2000, and since then we have enjoyed an active programme of both walks and other events. We now have over 60 members from throughout the county and adjacent areas.
Our programme includes both day walks and weekends away. Day walks take place on a Sunday or occasionally a Saturday. We aim to include walks of various distances and terrain to cater for all tastes. Weekends away usually involve one or two nights at a Youth Hostel or similar accommodation.
We also organise many social events, including pub nights, meals out, bowling, cinema nights etc.
The group is run by a committee which is elected anually at the AGM, but everyone is invited to suggest ideas for (and volunteer to organise !) events.
Everyone interested in finding out more about the group is welcome to join us on a few walks. Please read the points to remember. Then just contact the organiser listed in the programme, who will then know to expect you and can also help with arranging transport to the start of the walk if required. We hope that you'll want to join the group, which requires membership of the Ramblers' Association.
The association encourages walking; protects rights of way; defends the beauty of the countryside; and has campaigned for many years for freedom to roam over uncultivated, open country.
The association is a democratic, voluntary organisation, registered as a charity (no.306089).
It is always good practice to ring the walk leader if you intend to join a walk just in case there have been any changes to the arrangements. This applies to everyone, not just new members. If the walk leader is unavailable, ring Steve on 07867 536818 for any up to date information.

Every care is taken in planning walks but no responsibility is
